Crafts for Kids: Football Shaped Snack Bowl
Football Shaped Snack Bowl
Today I’m going to show you how to make a Football Shaped Snack Bowl! This craft is super easy and fun, and would be perfect to make for upcoming Superbowl Sunday!
Here is what you will need:
- 2 pieces of brown construction paper
- 1 piece of whatever color construction paper you would like!
(This is for the “laces” of the football, so you can do traditional
white, whatever color goes with the team you are rooting for, or in
my case, your child’s favorite color!) - scissors
- glue
- A pen (or ever better, a hole punch)
- Ribbon or string
Step 1: You will need to cut your 2 pieces of construction paper in half, and then cut them into half moons!
Step 2: Then, cut your other colored paper and cut into 2 strips (one for each side) and glue them down on the middle of
your paper.
Step 3: Cut 6 strips for your “laces” and glue them to your main strip.
Step 4: If you have a hole punch, put the 2 pieces of paper together (laces both facing out) and punch holes along the outer edge. (I didn’t have a hole punch so I just took the writing edge of a pen and poked small holes, worked great!)
Step 5: Take your ribbon and cut it about 1/3 longer then your “football” and make sure to tie a knot on one end. After
that start at a top corner and lace the ribbon through the holes until you reach the other side. Make sure to tie this end as well. You should be able to open up the “football” and not see any holes in between the ribbon.
Step 6: Fill the bowl with your favorite game day snack and enjoy!!
This would be perfect for children to help create, and then enjoy during the big game! (and hey, the adults will love it too!)
