Kids Easy, Fresh and Healthy Fruit Kebobs
Fruit Kebobs for Kids
Keeping a number of kids easy recipes at the ready makes snack time in our house so much easier. My kids like to help out in the kitchen but not necessarily when I need them to. Today they wanted a snack while I was in the middle of house cleaning. Instead of stopping what I was doing and making them something, I let them make these fresh and healthy fruit kebobs.
What You Will Need
A few long toothpicks or small skewers per child and a combination of any of these fresh fruits:
- Sliced oranges
- Sliced kiwi
- Strawberries
- Blueberries
- Raspberries
- Seedless grapes
- Sliced bananas
- Pineapple chunks
Today a sliced orange, two sliced kiwis, and a few handfuls of strawberries, blueberries and raspberries kept them occupied while I finished up what I was doing. All I had to do was supply the ingredients. They did all the work creating and then eating!
These kid friendly kebobs are easy to plan for. Simply pick up whatever fresh fruits are in season to have on hand when the kids want a snack they can create themselves. The next time you’re in the produce section of the grocery store, check out the variety of fresh fruits available. Depending on where you shop, you will most assuredly find a mix of fruits to please every kid.
When I take my kids to the store with me, I make a point of having each one of them pick out a favorite fruit. I’ve found it helpful to give my kids a say in what they eat. By allowing them to choose from a number of healthy options, they learn about making healthy choices. This is a lesson which will last a lifetime.
