Slice the banana peppers lengthwise and pull out the seeds then rinse.
Stuff the banana peppers with the cheese and toast slightly.
Allow to cool then serve.
Another snack to try is stuffing the peppers with pimento cheese. Here is one easy recipe:
/2 cup mayonnaise
cups cheddar cheese
small jar pimentos, drained
This variation can be made for children by children but depending on the age of your children it may require a bit of pre prep (such as slicing the peppers). If you have the pimento cheese ready and the peppers sliced the children can make their own healthy, high protein snack.
