Pour In a Pan Pizza

Ingredients

  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2/3 cup milk water or milk substitutes can be used
  • 2 eggs beaten

Chopped Ingredients

  • 1 lb cooked sausage
  • 1 3 1/2 oz pkg pepperoni
  • 2 tablespoons onion
  • 2 tablespoons green pepper

Instructions

  • Combine the flour, salt, garlic powder and pepper. Stir in milk and eggs. This will be your "crust." It now needs to be poured into a greased 13x9x2 pan.
  • Sprinkle the chopped ingredients over the "crust."
  • Bake at 425 for 15 minutes. Remove the pizza from oven.
  • Be careful not to touch the pan during this next step because it will be hot!!
  • Spread 1 cup pizza sauce and 2 cups mozzarella cheese on top then bake for minutes more.

**Adult supervision is needed for operating the oven and removing the pizza.

If a child forgets the order of layering and dumps it all in a pan the end product will not look as good but it tastes just fine!

I have one child that is very aware of textures and cannot stand "chopped" vegetables. My quick and easy solution to having children help cook but not chop AND helping avoid texture problems is to have vegetable ice cubes in a labeled freezer bag. I puree fresh vegetables then freeze in a ice cube tray so you can grab "2 tablespoons" or one cube quickly. This works wonderfully for peppers, onions, celery and more!

For a thinner crust use a larger pan, we have even used a cookie sheet.
