Chutzpah: Sit down we are rude
ChutzpaChutzpah. This is a word that is used often by myself because sometimes I just can’t believe what people do. I mean really! I thought it would be fun to share our Chutzpah moments. The only rules are no names of stores, people, or events. You may also not use inappropriate language. Leave a comment listing your favorite Chutzpah moment! I mean laughter is the best medicine.
chutzpah Or khutspe. Nerve, extreme arrogance, brazen presumption. In English, chutzpah often connotes courage or confidence, but among Yiddish speakers, it is not a compliment.
I know you all know I went to Jason Aldean. I love country music and I happen to love to dance. I can’t say that I am good at it but I do enjoy it. It is actually funny because I go to Zumba each week because of the energy and every week I hope everyone is moving so fast that they do not notice that I have no idea what I am doing. Okay back to the chutzpah moment. We were in a box seat area at the concert. The box is shared by two companies. We received wonderful seats and planned to have a super time. The first song came on and we got up and started dancing. We danced with the ladies seated in front of us for a couple of songs. Then we were told we have to sit down because the people behind us can’t see. I guess I have never been to a concert that people expected to sit for. This wasn’t a play it was a country concert.
I was determined to dance and have a good time. I went to speak with the person who was threatening to call the manager over us dancing at our seats. I asked her if there was a way that we could trade seats with the people who wanted to sit. We would be giving up our wonderful seats and view to keep the peace.
She agreed that would be a great option. The Chutzpah comes in when the people who we gave up our seats to decided to mimics us and dance and then laugh and sit in our seats. I have to say it was tacky and rude. We were nice enough to move for their benefit a thank you would have been nice but teasing wasn’t called for.
