Chutzpah: Unanswered Prayers
Chutzpah. This is a word that is used often by myself because sometimes I just can’t believe what people do. I mean really! I thought it would be fun to share our Chutzpah moments. The only rules are no names of stores, people, or events. You may also not use inappropriate language. Leave a comment listing your favorite Chutzpah moment! I mean laughter is the best medicine.
chutzpah Or khutspe. Nerve, extreme arrogance, brazen presumption. In English, chutzpah often connotes courage or confidence, but among Yiddish speakers, it is not a compliment.
It all started yesterday when my daughter came home from school. She sat on my lap on the floor and said, “mommy we need to pray for a baby.” I thought okay lets pray for a baby since there is a baby out there that needs prayers. I wasn’t sure where this conversation/ requests was going but who could refuse a three year old. She lead the prayer and everything was wonderful until the end. She finished the prayer with “please, bring me a baby sister because I already have a baby brother.” I wasn’t sure what to say so I am hoping this is one of God’s unanswered prayers. I told this story on Madame Deals facebook page and one of my friends said, “They teach children to ask for babies so they can get a dog.” I think my daughter has far better of a chance to receive a dog than a baby sister. I think three children is enough for us. I haven’t slept in 8 years.
