Crafting with Kids: Break Time
Meet Stephanie! She’s a 24 year old stay at home Mom, who couldn’t ask for a better blessing than to be home with her daughter!! Their favorite things to do together is working on art projects and they enjoy sharing them with people at Crafting with Bug!! In her free time she enjoys reading and scrapbooking!!
There are days when I’d love to do an art project with my daughter but even the simplest of tasks have been difficult to complete. This means even a simple art project would be a chore!
Art with your little one shouldn’t be a chore! It should be a time that you two look forward to! Sometimes your ‘art time’ can go from the time you guys looked forward to feeling like a chore. If you notice this happening with yourself or you notice that your little one isn’t quite as focused as they used to or they just plain old aren’t interested in it at all that is totally normal.
A simple fix for this is just putting your art time on the back burner for a few weeks. If art was a constant for you guys, your little one may very well ask to do art. If that is the case you can either say ‘not today but, we can do _____ instead’ or you can pull out something easy (i.e. play dough/ coloring books ect…) for them. The trick is to put the full on projects on hold for a while.
Once each of you have had a break you both can come back to it with a renewed excitement!
