DIY Hair Detangler Spray
My daughter was born with hair just like mine but she also came with a sensitive scalp. Our hair is like cotton, I can shampoo and condition her hair before bed and by morning it is one big cotton ball. So since she has a sensitive scalp and does not like my method of brushing it thru, we have forever been indebted to hair detangler. Yes over the years, I have found that the stuff at the Dollar Store isn’t half bad but even that adds up after a while. So today I finally decided to venture into the DIY zone. It was simple and cheap to make.
DIY Hair Detangler Spray
- 1 cup hot water (I brought mine to a boil in the microwave)
- 1/8 cup of conditioner
- Spray bottle
Mix conditioner into hot water. Once cooled, pour into spray bottle.
Some Hints:
Wait for conditioner to go on sale or buy it at the Dollar Store. 1 bottle of conditioner will make approximately 8 bottles of detangler. ( I bought my bottle of conditioner for 50 cents so divided by 8 bottles is approx. 6 cents a bottle)
Reuse a spray detangler bottle that you already have.

Hi I’m Gwendolyn and I have been a stay at home mom since 2009. I have been with my husband, James, for 10 years and we are proud parents of Jayme (8) and Nicholas (13). We are also parents to 3 dogs, 2 cats, 2 hamsters, and a snake. My father-in-law lives with us so it is always non-stop at our house. I had the honor of becoming a step-parent when I got married and have a great relationship with my step-son. I always used coupons and shopped for bargains but was forced to step up my game when my husband was disabled in 2005. I get an incredible rush from saving money and finding great deals. My life is a constant journey and I look forward to sharing it with you all.
