I have said this before and I will say it again…I am not a morning person. I have to have my coffee as soon as my feet hit the floor. So in June and July, I have to get up early every morning and take my boys to swim team practice. Now by the time they get out of bed, eat breakfast, and are ready to leave I have already had 2 cups of coffee. However, I require 3 cups minimum. That means coffee to go, of course. But have you sat at the pool in Virginia in June and July? Even in the early morning it is too hot for coffee. Now before you start questioning my self proclaimed coffee requirements, rest assured I still drink my coffee even when it is too hot, I just sweat a lot. I decided it was high time to figure out how to make the perfect iced coffee to go so that I can enjoy my coffee chilled while I wait for my kids pool side.
Before we talk coffee let’s talk coffee creamers. The best cup of fresh brewed coffee can be ruined by what you add to it. So choose your creamer carefully. I like International Delight Simply Pure coffee creamers because they meet all of my requirements for a good coffee creamer. Morning people do not mess around when it comes to their coffee or their creamer.
Characteristics of good coffee creamer
- Made with simple ingredients – International Delight Simply Pure coffee creamers are made with real milk, cream, and sugar. They only have 5 ingredients.
- Don’t lose their flavor – you should be able to taste the flavor of the creamer after you add it to your cofee without having to add more and more creamer. Your hot coffee will stay hot because you don’t need to add loads of creamer and you iced coffee doesn’t loose it’s coffee taste either.
- Comes in a variety of delicious flavors – There are 3 flavors of International Delight Simply Pure coffee creamers – Vanilla, Caramel and Hazelnut
- Easy to find at the store – As any non-morning person knows we like our routine so once we find something we like we tend to stick with it. It is important to make sure you can easily find your new creamer at Walmart.
How to make the perfect iced coffee
Step 1: Read this step carefully. Complete step one the night before you want to have iced coffee in the morning. The timing of this step is critical for all my fellow non-morning people. Pour coffee creamer into ice cube trays and place in the freezer.
Step 2: Fill up your to go cup halfway with ice cubes.
Step 3: Add several of your frozen creamer cubes to the cup. I like 4 or 5 cubes but you may like more or less.
Step 4: Add hot coffee. I use my Keurig to make my coffee but you can use brewed coffee or pressed coffee.
Step 5: Enjoy your perfect iced coffee!
