The key ingredient that you will find in every smoothie is yogurt. No matter which fruits, vegetables, juices, or supplements you add, if you don’t start with delicious, natural, whole milk yogurt your smoothie won’t be as healthy as it can be. We all want better more natural ingredients in our foods and I am happy to share that Dannon is listening. Dannon yogurt is now made with whole milk and all natural non-GMO ingredients.
The Dannon Pledge:
In addition to yogurt made with whole milk, natural and non-GMO ingredients, Dannon has also pledged transparency and sustainability. Labels will indicate presence of non-GMO and GMO products which is a huge step to help consumers make better food chooses. They are sourcing ingredients sustainably by working directly with farmers they know.
Why Yogurt?
If your like me, the main motivation behind making these smoothie is to get more fruits and vegetables into my kids. Trust me, they will have no idea you hid kale in this smoothie. But yogurt is also god for them (and you). The active cultures in bacteria help replenish the good bacteria in your gut. Those same cultures make yogurt easier to digest especially for folks who have trouble with lactose.
