Wholesome Cereal Recipes
It is the time of night when the creatures come out. Wait let me start over it is the time of night when you are done cooking, cleaning, organizing, preparing, and mitigating life. It is the time of night that you want a snack. You do not need a big snack, but you want something packed tightly with taste. You aren’t the only one with this desire.
You are a mind reader. You are the next Julia Child. You are the parent that knows the one sentence that will fly out of their mouth after dinner without fail is, “What is for dessert?”
You have anticipated this and not only did you create wholesome cereal recipes, but you are ready to serve them. Ha! They can serve themselves, you deserve a rest. You have tackled a laundry pile that makes Mount Rushmore look like a hill. You have cleaned the floor, or maybe you haven’t and yes that bathroom rug does look nice in the dining room. You have done your duty, and now it is time for you and your family to taste the recipe you made with Malt-O-Meal® Cinnamon Toasters Cereal.
Hours earlier this happened.
You search your brain and your cabinets and as usual, they are empty with the exception of cereal. Why? The Malt-O-Meal cereal was on sale at Food Lion, and since your kids love it, you stocked up. You have three different varieties: Cinnamon Toasters, S’Mores, and Golden Puffs.
You have thrown dinner in the crockpot because it is an epic night of car pool, homework, and sports. You want tasty, and you want easy. You also want dessert. You deserve dessert, but you want something you can make quickly.
This is the sale I took advantage of:

You think to yourself, “how long does it take yogurt to freeze?”
I have enough time, and this is the perfect solution to my dessert dilemma. Guess what, my kids loved this dessert so much they began eating it for breakfast and for a snack. I didn’t care because these are nutritious cereal recipes.
Materials:
Cookie sheet with a lip
Parchment paper
Plastic wrap
Toothpick
Ingredients:
3 Cups of your favorite Malt-O-Meal cereal we used Cinnamon Toasters
1 large container of Greek yogurt use the full-fat version
1 cup of berries
1/4 cup of jelly
Directions:
Line the cookie sheet with parchment paper
Place the Cinnamon Toasters on the bottom of the cookie sheet
Pour the yogurt on top (I let the yogurt come to room temperature so I could spread it easily.)
Dice the fruit
Add the jam on top of the yogurt
Place the diced fruit on top of the yogurt and the jam
Place two tooth picks in the yogurt
Drape plastic wrap, so it doesn’t touch the yogurt
Freeze for two hours or until hard
Remove the yogurt from the freezer once it has set and break it into pieces. Once this is done, you can share. If you want.
You can change this recipe by changing the type of fruit and the type of Malt-O-Meal cereal for the bottom. You can also add honey instead of jam. The possibilities for this cereal recipe are endless.
