Crafting with Kids: It's All My Fault
Meet Stephanie! She’s a 24 year old stay at home Mom, who couldn’t ask for a better blessing than to be home with her daughter!! Their favorite things to do together is working on art projects and they enjoy sharing them with people at Crafting with Bug!! In her free time she enjoys reading and scrapbooking!!
When I first started my blog both Bug and I were more than excited to be posting daily but soon, I found that the excitement had worn off. Yes, we love doing our art projects but I was so entangled in my school life and attempting to keep up the house that it became more of a chore.
This eventually wore off on my daughter and soon I found her saying ‘No Mommy, I don’t want to do art today’. At first I was shocked and then it became a routine. She had simply become not interested in it any more.
After a refreshing day out of the house with her last week I had come to realize it was ALL MY FAULT! Yes, I said it….IT WAS MY FAULT!!! I was distracted and I tried to rush her through it! We would sit down and I would get impatient with her, not letting her take her time with it. My impending list of ‘things to do’ was running through my head and I just wanted to get up and get it done instead of spending time with her at her pace.
I can honestly say that I am very excited to try and get back into the swing of things. Maybe every day is too much? Maybe a couple times a week will work much better. Either way I am determined that no matter what is on my impending ‘to do’ list I will let Bug do the art projects at her own pace!!!
