Lisa Advocare Challenge Day 14 Update

As of today I have lost 5 pounds and 3.5 overall inches. I have learned that the Fiber drink is good if you mix it with your spark in the morning. I used the orange flavor and it taste like a powder mix orange juice. I have tried the chocolate, berry, and chocolate peanut butter shakes. I did not like the chocolate peanut butter and the berry was ok. My favorite is the chocolate. There are a lot of pills to remember to take at different times of the days. I set my phone to remind me at work so I don’t forget to take them.

Food prep is the key to success. If you do not have the food ready to grab then you will be tempted to go back to old habits of grabbing a quick prepackaged snack that is full of sugar, sodium, and high in carbohydrates. We prep on the weekend. I found a lot of recipes on Pinterest to be very helpful. One pin is Jenny Collier’s “100 Advocare friendly recipes”. You need to check each recipe to determine if it is cleanse friendly before you use it. Also once your start the Max phase you need to be sure you only have your starchy carbohydrate on your Refuel days. We have adapted many recipes to our taste just by adding less or more of different spices. I have learned that I should not only be looking at food labels for the fat, carbohydrate, and fiber information. I need to pay more attention to the sugars and protein.

Right now I am finding it hard to resist stopping for a sweet treat. I want a Reese’s Peanut Butter cup Blizzard so badly. I am looking into healthy sweet treat options to curb my cravings. One item that has helped the first 14 days is Blue Diamond dark chocolate oven roasted almonds. I got them at Walmart picture below of the bag. Below I have shown some pictures of some of our favorite recipes. There has been one recipe that we could not eat and that was the balsamic crockpot chicken. It was awful and we are good at following recipes and cooking so I don’t think we did anything wrong!!

Crockpot Chicken Cacciatore, MY FAVORITE!! Tender chicken in a pasta sauce!!
Ground Turkey Stuffed Green Peppers, another favorite
Salad with berries, chicken, and Light Raspberry dressing (watch the sugar on the dressing)
Ground Turkey Taco Lettuce wraps (I thought they were very yummy and satisfying my husband kept giving me the evil eye because the kids had taco shells)
Bruchette Chicken– A lovely surprise it was like a salsa on top and we are going to try it on fish next.
Blue Diamond Oven Roasted Almonds– Life saver for a sweet treat. I know without them I would have cheated by now!!
