Irish Meatloaf an Easy Irish Recipe

I was recently in Ireland. I had the best time. I came home and I wanted to cook everything that I could that reminded me of Ireland. I made  Dublin Coddle, Lemon Scones, tea brack, and even Irish  Soda Bread.  Then I went on to tackle Irish Meat Loaf. It is such an easy Irish Recipe. This meatloaf had a secret ingredient. You will not believe what they use but once I added it to my meatloaf it became the best easy meatloaf I have ever made. You can even freeze it.

I looked all over for easy Irish recipe and all of them had one ingredient. That I had to google.

What is minced meat?

It turns out minced meat is beef same as our version of ground beef but we use a grinder so Minced meat is simply meat that has been passed through a mincing machine to break it down into smaller pieces. 

Once, I had that part of the recipe cleared up I was ready to make the best easy meatloaf recipe called Irish meatloaf.

Easy Irish Meatloaf Recipe

Ingredients:

1 Teaspoon of crushed Juniper Berries

Butter to grease the loaf pan 

1/2 cup of gluten free breadcrumbs

1/4 cup of finely chopped white onion

1 LB of minced beef or ground beef

1 Tablespoon of Ketchup

1 Teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

1 Tablespoon of fresh chopped chives

1 Tablespoon of finely chopped parsley

1 Teaspoon of finely chopped oregano

1 eggs

salt and pepper to taste

This is the best easy meatloaf recipe because you are going to combine all the ingredients above. Then you are going to bake the meatloaf. It is easy to do in a bowl place the ground beef then I added in the onions, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper.  When you add in the Juniper berries make sure you really smash them. You do not want anyone to eat the seed in its round form. I then cracked the egg and then added in the breadcrumbs and the fresh herbs. I mixed them by hand. I made sure to try to get the ingredients evenly distributed through the ground beef.

Once you have your mixture completed. Then you put it in the loaf pan that you have greased. You will cook it at 375 degrees for 1 hour to one hour and a half. I always make sure to use one of these meat thermometers to make sure my meat is done.

I can tell you no matter what meatloaf you decide to make the Irish meatloaf was a favorite for my husband and my children love the apricot meatloaf. One thing is for sure that the best meatloaf is on the is easy to make.
