Early Potty Training Tips

How I didn’t lose my mind potty training my daughter!

Oh, the joys of potty training! My daughter was 17 months old, and I started early potty training her. Don’t laugh! I was nine months pregnant and didn’t want two kids in diapers! HA! She started to show interest as well. That was until my son was born! That went straight out the window! She wanted nothing to do with potty training after that! Then I learned about Pampers Easy Ups and how they are training underwear! We decided to try again and make this a big deal! Check out our giveaway as well from Pampers!

Pampers sent our daughter a gift to help us get her on track and potty trained! See the amazing letter and gift box Pampers Easy Ups Training Pants sent us!

Our toddler Madison unboxing her Training Underwear

Pampers Easy Ups – the easiest way to underwear! I agree completely! She felt like such a big girl grabbing her training underwear and putting them on herself! The new Pampers Easy Ups Training Underwear feel and look more like real underwear while providing the outstanding leak protection you’d expect from Pampers. Your little ones will think it’s underwear, but you’ll know it’s Pampers. Madison was also so excited that Dora was on her training underwear. They not only looked but felt more like underwear too! I trust the Pampers Easy Ups Training Pants not only for the day but night as well! They have Dual Leak-Guard Barriers™ around the legs prevent the leaks that can happen when they are on the move. And my daughter moves about 100 times during the night; she kills me!

My daughter still plays with the Pampers box they sent us! So to encourage her to go potty on the potty my husband created a chart. Not only did we want her to go potty but we wanted to get her on a schedule! So in the morning she would grab a pair of her Pampers Easy Ups, run into the bathroom to go over her chart!

– Go potty – sticker
– Wash hands – sticker
– brush teeth – sticker
– brush hair – sticker
– make the bed – sticker

Now some of these clearly we helped her with but it’s getting her into the pattern of doing it! Doing this every day for a month it creates a routine and keeping it positive! Throughout the day each time she goes that is one more sticker! We even have a nightly routine as well which we reward with stickers!

We believe in positive reenforcement, so we told her once she completes a week doing all the things on her chart we gave her a reward! Nothing drastic or expensive but enough to keep her focused on getting the tasks done!

I am pleased to say Madison really took to it and is now Potty Trained! It definitely takes time and lots of patience. Now when my son gets to this age I know exactly what we will be using!
