I swore. Well, not swore using the bad words that required a healthy dose of soap in my day but I made a promise to myself that I would never ever do this. I told myself the minute my first son was born that my life would be the same. I would be the same. I would just fit his life in. Like, put him on the calendar when I felt like it.
That was until he did this.
He had the nerve to steal my heart. When he did that, it was all over. I was no longer able to have my own time. It was evident my life would be arranged around him. It got worse though far worse. I had two more children who divided my heart and monopolized my schedule. They took bites not nibbles out of my schedule, and the largest bite besides school was soccer.
I promised myself 1) I would not get a mini van 2) I would have my own schedule based on me 3) I would not be a soccer mom. I am not sure why we lie to ourselves but I failed on all three of my missions. I am a minivan owner 6 years in now. I haven’t had my own schedule since I became pregnant 12 years ago and I am a soccer mom. I am a soccer mom to a travel player and two league players.
