Why? Gluten and Allergen Free Wellness Event
Why go to a Gluten and Allergen Free Wellness Event?
If you have wondered what a Gluten and Allergen Free Wellness Event is, or why you should attend if given the opportunity then this is the post for you!
Guess where I went today? Yes, as indicated above- a Gluten and Allergen Free Wellness Event. What exactly is that? Well, I wasn’t sure I would be able to show my children when I found this
as I approached the event site. We sat for over 30 minutes waiting on this Juvenile diabetes walk. The people were literally circling the event site so NO ONE could get into the event site for awhile.
Once in the Gluten and Allergen Free Wellness Event we were greeted, registered, and then pointed toward a room full of sponsors who were well prepared with samples. Sadly some of the tables did not have representatives from the company but volunteers. These volunteers were very helpful and gave us something the internet can not provide – a taste of the product. I can google the product and or ingredients for the information!
Being from the south and loving Cajun cooking I was delighted to see and then taste this product
Stay tuned for a review of the gumbo and a giveaway!! (While awaiting those posts, enjoy our gluten free “cookie” butter recipe, gluten free peanut butter cookies and gluten free cookie dough dip!)
In a different room there were educational speeches. Educational literature regarding testing, diet restrictions, and recipe modifications were all distributed. A few important facts that needs to be repeated to make more individuals aware of Gluten and Allergen problems are 1) individuals diagnosed with IBS may be at risk for developing pre Celiac and then Celiac disease and 2) genetic testing is available in addition to endoscopic testing to determine a diagnosis.
While at the Gluten and Allergen Free Wellness Event we acquired all this loot plus a stack of literature as well as a memory of a great day.
All in all this Gluten and Allergen Free Wellness Event was time well spent.
