Every year my daughter and I pick a homemade gift from our kitchen to share with family and friends. This is one of my favorite holiday traditions because I have so much fun spending time with my daughter, and I love that it teaches her that you don’t have to spend hundreds of dollars to get a great gift for someone. (You know what they say, It’s the thought that counts right!). This year we decided we wanted to make something sweet and “something good for you” says my 6-year-old. So we decided that who wouldn’t love a Cream Cheese Caramel Apple Dip in a Jar! Cream Cheese Caramel Apple Dip Gift In A Jar
You Will Need:
- Kraft Caramel Bits (You can also use their classic caramels, I just love these because they are unwrapped and perfect for melting)
- Philadelphia Cream Cheese
- Apples
- Small Mason Jars
- Clear Gift Bags and Ties
- Festive Tags and Ribbon
First, grab a bowl and pour your Kraft caramels into it, throw them in the microwave for around 1 minute (check them after 30 seconds) and use a whisk to stir the bits together.
Next, grab your softened Philadelphia cream cheese and mix it in with your melted caramel to create the apple dip. You will want to mix it quickly so the caramels do not harden. After you mix the two together, it would be a great time to take some time for a taste test, ha!
Then, you will pour your mix into clean mason jars and screw the lid on. Stick your jars in the fridge for a few hours to let cool and set. After they have cooled slip them in your clear bags and set a whole apple on top. Tie with a ribbon and add a gift tag and you have one super simple homemade Christmas gift!
Homemade gifts like this apple dip are so fun and easy to make and they really show the recipient that you took the time to make something special just for them and it also makes a great family activity for you all to do together. And at the end of the day, it helps me remember that Christmas isn’t about the presents, the decorations, or the food. It’s about family, fun, and love. I hope you all have a great holiday season with your loved ones!
