Dill Pickles Recipe: A Vegetarian Recipes For Kids
I love getting in the kitchen with my kids and finding simple and yummy recipes that they will love. Today I wanted to share with you one of my daughters favorite recipe and what she considers her “specialty” ha! This is a quick and easy dill pickles recipe that can be mixed up by a child with basic kitchen skills. No cooking or canning is required for these yummy pickles! Depending on the age of the child and or the method of slicing an adult may need to help slice the cucumbers. You can enjoy these pickles in your fridge for up to 6 weeks. I hope you enjoy!
Here is the Vegetarian Recipes Kids: Easy Refrigerator Dill Pickles Recipe:
You Will Need:
- 4 cucumbers (either cut into spears or chips, whichever you like!)
- 3 1/2 cups of water
- 1 1/4 cup white vinegar
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1 tbsp sea salt
- 2 cloves garlic (whole)
- 2 heads fresh dill
Instructions for making Dill Pickles:
- Stir your water, vinegar, sugar, and sea salt together in a saucepan over Med/high heat. Bring mixture to a boil; remove from heat and let cool completely.
- Combine your cucumber spears, garlic cloves, and fresh dill in a large glass or plastic container. Pour your cooled vinegar mixture over cucumber mixture. Stir gently and then seal your container with lid and refrigerate for at least 3 days.
- Enjoy as a side, or a healthy snack!
It’s as easy as that to make a yummy snack that the kids can be excited that they helped make! And who doesn’t love pickles right?
