A Guy that Cleans, Coffee Talk, and Fashionable Conversation
Wow! What a week. I have been so busy that I haven’t had the time to fill you in on my adventures during the last couple of weeks. I should be frank I have a dream job. Yes, I have figured out how to get paid living my life. I believe that every person is capable of doing what they want to do. It just takes planning, hard work, education, and a little bit of luck. I am sure most of you know I have been blogging since 2009. It was a hobby and outlet. It was my way to share what I was learning about how to live on less but not hate not having. I learned that things were just that.
Since 2009, we have paid off our children’s college funds. We recently paid off our house. We finally took the kids to Disney and went on a cruise by ourselves. You can look at my pictures if you want on our travel blog. We began trying to apply the principles of living on 30,000 or less into our daily life. You can learn more about how to live on 30,000 or less by reading this post.
Money is just that. It is a means to end, it isn’t the answer or the problem because frankly you can always make more if you are willing to work for it. Yes, I am one of those people that believes in working hard for what I have. Sigh! I wish I wasn’t becoming a minority in our country.
I guess that brings me to some big news my husband won a contest as a man who cleans. I thank you for voting, so he got his first real paying contract job on his site menclean.com. I am excited to see if his hobby and passion will also turn into his livelihood. I sure hope so, I mean what a win that would be for me, to have a happy husband and a house cleaned by someone else! Score!
This week I realized that being successful has more to do with who you are than what you have. I am offered opportunities all the time to represent brands. I take some and say no to a lot of them. I recently accepted a job with Crazy 8 and they paid me in gift cards. I am so excited because I am dressing both my children and children who need some new clothes. I love being able to pay it forward it is the most rewarding part of my job other than the obvious of being able to pay my bills. I can’t help to think if every person did a good deed what might come out of that. I challenge you to do something nice for a stranger. I have a list of 100 things you can do for FREE to help others.
It is important when deciding what brands to sign a contract with to think if they fit your image? I mean are they brands that have the same core value system? It is important to me to see who is behind the brand. I recently signed a contract with Smucker’s, which is owned by Folgers. I chose to work with them because of who they are not just the products they sell. I am sure you know I am the Folgers brand ambassador because I have been talking about it on social media nonstop. I would like to take that further after meeting the Smuckers family. I feel like I am a part of their tribe. This isn’t just a business to them; it is being part of the legacy the fruition of the American dream. Did you know that the Smucker’s brand grew out of the apples from Johnny Appleseed? Yes, it is true J.M. Smucker’s first product was apple butter that he sold out of his horse-drawn carriage. Isn’t that interesting? You never know what will be the beginning of your story.
Here are a couple of pictures I took while we were there, they are all recipes that have Folgers in the recipe. I will tell you how next week.
