Dollar General College Dorm Room Savings Trip
This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Dollar General for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.
My daughter, a third year college student lives in a living college (private dorm) which is not a typical dorm. She and her suitemates are required to clean their own bathrooms and supply their own cleaning supplies, toilet paper and paper towels. Dollar General is a great place to get these necessary items at an affordable price. We had a budget of $20 to spend so with shopping basket in hand we headed for the cleaning supplies. We found sponges, foam bathroom cleaner, all purpose cleaner, toilet bowl cleaner, dish soap, paper towels, scented trash bags (because college trash cans tend to smell pretty bad) a new tooth brush and some mouthwash.
Dollar General has loads of dorm room supplies that include, pots and pans, cleaning supplies, paper products, medicine, room decor, toiletries, food and school supplies, bathroom rugs, curtains, alarm clocks and much much more. You can check out DG Dorm Essentials to check out all the available stuff that they have and even conveniently shop online.
While my daughter is quite cost conscious to begin with she was able to see that with a little bit of comparison shopping she could fill two bags for just $20. For example, she picked up a package of name brand sponges that were nearly $3 for two. Next to the name brand sponges was a pack of Dollar General brand sponges for $1 per pack of 6. Naturally she chose the DG brand and saved money in the process. We also had a coupon for the toothbrush which saved us $1 allowing our budgeted money to go even farther. College students are strapped for cash to begin with and with the help of Dollar General they can have what they need at a fraction of the cost.
