Celebrate Your Pup’s Birthday with a Dog Cake

My dogs love when I make them special treats and this week they requested a cake to celebrate a birthday. This was not their birthday but the 1 week birthday of 2 puppies that came into our home. This recipe is also a great way to treat them with something special whenever a celebration is in order.

Ingredients
  

For The Cake

  • 1 cup whole wheat flour.
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 cup applesauce
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • t tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 cup peanut butter
  • 1/3 cup honey

For the Frosting

  • 1/4 cup plain yogurt
  • 1/4 cup peanut butter

Instructions
 

Cake instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350*
  • In a medium boil combine baking soda and flour.
  • Add remaining cake ingredients and mix well.
  • Pour into greased 8-9 inch round pan
  • Bake for 30 minutes.
  • Remove and let cool.

Frosting Instructions

  • In a small bowl combine peanut butter and yogurt
  • When the cake is cool frost and serve.
  • Keep leftovers in refrigerator for up to 1 week.
