How to Set Up a Folgers® Coffee Bar
Disclosure: This is a sponsored post on behalf of Folgers® but all opinions expressed here are my own and I hope you liked them.
When I think back to my childhood one of the things I remember is the smell of Folgers® filling our house. I think back to the fireplace, friends, and family. I decided that with modern technology wouldn’t it be great to create a retreat in my home? I love having people come over. I want them to return often so I make sure they feel special by creating an experience they will remember. I decided to create a self-serve Folgers’ station. It is so easy to set up a self-serve Folgers Coffee Bar. This way they can have their coffee how they like it and as often as they like it. It is always hard to tell how many cups people require, so making a station seems like a great way to help them feel like they are at home.
How to set up a Folgers Coffee Bar
First, select your favorite Folgers Coffees for your Keurig. I always suggest a decaf. We like the Lively Colombian Decaf Coffee, Other good selections to offer are the Gourmet Lively Colombian, and also a specialty blend like the Hazelnut Cream Coffee. It really depends on my guests though since my parents love the Folgers Classic and my sister loves the Black Silk. I try to figure out their perfect blend before they come for me, that is part of being the perfect host. This is another tip: you want to find a spot that is accessible to everyone and in a place that people do not have to leave the conversation to get more coffee. I set up my Folgers Coffee Bar in my family room. Then you want to make sure you clean your machine prior to inviting others to use it. Next, you want to get a large pitcher full of water. This allows you to set up your station anywhere you chose. I place out several mugs so they do not have to go looking through my cabinet which could be dangerous considering the children unload the dishwasher. Then you want to put out some extra items to ensure everyone can make that perfect cup. We usually set out the following items: cream, sugar, spoons, and a spoon rest. Chocolate shavings, marshmallows, and some adorable cookies that taste best when dipped in Folgers also add a special touch that your guests will love. During the holiday season you can even add candy canes and for other times of the year; candy sticks or rock candy are perfect. I also add things like the nutmeg or cinnamon to make shapes in the coffee. I have also brought out steamed milk if anyone likes some and I even offer to whip them up one of my famous Folgers cinnamon lattes.
Then you need to find a sign to invite your guests to help themselves or just a sweet note that sets the tone for your bar. I change mine through the event just to be cute. Another way you can make your guests feel special is to break up the day with different coffee ideas. If you are having company for the day you can do different drink options by bringing out flavored creamers, or making the switch from decaf to caffeinated or from caffeinated to decaf. Around lunch I will bring out my ice bucket and my Folgers Iced Cafe flavors for ice coffee. I believe this is a charming way to comfort your friends and make them feel at home.
I set up this station for my book club group and the ladies loved it. They were so excited to be able to make their own coffee and add the special treats I provided. It was the talk of the party. This is a great idea for birthday parties, baby showers, and holiday gatherings. If you are having children at a party buy a box of apple cider or hot chocolate. This has been a huge hit at our parties and it has allowed our guests to stay where everyone is without having to miss anything, You know you come to a party to see your friends and create memories and you shouldn’t have to leave them to get a cup of Folgers®.
