What to do in Duck, North Carolina

Check out my experience and list of What to do in Duck, North Carolina

It wasn’t until my eyes began to twitch that I realized my stress was manifesting itself in a physical way. It was that moment  that I knew I needed a break. I needed a mom vacation.

I grabbed a friend and we headed to Outer Banks for a relaxing weekend filled with everything we liked aside from the trip to urgent care. I will explain that later.

We were hosted at the Sanderling Resort in Duck, North Carolina. The rooms were “beachful” elegance and the location is gently nestled between the sound and the ocean. The property offers many amenities so you do not need to leave. You can enjoy the pool, spa, hot tub, water sports, biking or reading a book on one of the many lovely decks complete with rocking chairs.

On the premise the Sanderling resort features a charming dining establishment. The Caffey’s Inlet Life Saving Station No. 5 resort guests and visitors for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The restaurant asks that you refrain from wearing bathing suits with covers. I suggest you take the opportunity to get a little dressed up. You can sit by the fire and warm up as the coastal breeze increases your appetite.

The chef prepares dishes that are unique takes on already done favorite. I had the Oyster’s Rockerfeller which wasn’t the way I am normally used to receiving it. The flavors I knew were presented in a innovative way. The main course I selected was tuna infused with citrus. It was the perfect dish after a long day on the beach. It reminded me of summer. It was fresh, beautiful, and aromatic.

Duck, North Carolina proved to be a place filled with wonderful people. We had a great time navigating the town that offered a pier to walk on, beaches to lounge on with waves to play in there was also a marsh to explore. These barrier islands offered absolutely no barrier to having a good time.

We also found time to relax and act like teenagers in our room and it wouldn’t be a mom’s vacation without our favorite things to do. I enjoy having spa treatments. You can see the snail secretion eye patches I tried. I liked the results. I also brought a clay mask. That is one of the ways I save money is to bring things with me that I enjoy doing. I gave myself a clay mask, read a book, while watching the sun kiss the sky.

These are the snail eye patches they are amazing!

I got up to watch the sun rise and counted all my blessings. I dove into a fantastic book, and I explored Duck, North Carolina.

I needed to relax because we did ended up finding out their urgent care was impressive after an unfortunate interaction with soap and shampoo. I guess you never know what your allergies are.

I believe that every vacation involves memories and mine were made spending time in an exceptional location with a fabulous friend. I also believe in coming home full of good food. You can see what to eat in the Outer Banks.
