Pumpkin as Part of Your Dog’s Diet
Your Dog’s Diet can get a Boost with Pumpkin
I want my dogs to feel their best at all times but I have found that just like people their stomachs can get messed up. This can happen because of a change in their diet, living arrangements, weather and even stress. Yes our furry friends bodies can get all wonky just like ours from time to time. The only difference is they can’t go to the cupboard and take an antacid ,laxative or anti-diarrhea pill. They expect us to help them get back on track.
The best way I have found to help my pet’s stomach is by adding a little something to my dog’s diet.
What do I add? Pumpkin!
Now don’t worry, you do not need to go out and buy a raw pumpkin and cook it. You can simply buy a can of plain pumpkin.
Make sure you do NOT buy pumpkin pie filling. The sugar is very dangerous to dogs and will make them very sick.
I buy a large can and feed it to them for a few days with each of their meals until I notice that they are back on a regular routine.
I use 1 -2 TBSP and mix it right in with their dog food and serve.
Make sure to refrigerate any remaining pumpkin leftovers.
I have found that this works to help both diarrhea and constipation.
This Tip for using Pumpkin is not meant to be veterinary advice or to diagnose your pet. If you have any questions regarding if a food is safe for your dog or to find out what is wrong with your dog please check with your veterinarian.
